This image would have been taken in front of the Royal Hotel - Originally known as Tambaroora Road, later renamed Beyers Avenue - This is the Road to Tambaroora Township and NOT Tambaroora St in Hill End - Hamblys Timber Yard Shop on corner of Moores Lane can be seen behind the man leaning on the shovel in right of image - The Australian Hotel has been built on the opposite corner - Two buildings on the left are Monies Hill End Hotel, Harris's Duke of Cornwall Hotel and Curtains Barber Shop. The Holtermann Collection notes this Road as being Tambroora Street. (653) |
